The HLRECC has 11 employees that are supervised by four Communications Supervisors, who work on a rotating shift to ensure that services are active 24/7, 365 days a year. All department members are licensed telecommunicators through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) in varying levels: six master level telecommunicators, two advanced level telecommunicators, three intermediate level telecommunicators and five basic level telecommunicators
APCO Certification
Training for Public Safety Telecommunicators, initial and continuing, is exceedingly important as they provide essential services to the public in an ever-expanding and rapidly changing public safety environment. The APCO Project 33 Agency Training Program Certification is a formal mechanism for public safety agencies to certify their training programs as meeting APCO American National Standards (ANS)
