The City of Marble Falls is pleased to announce the appointment of Wade Nickerson as its new Director of Finance, effective May 5, 2025.
With more than two decades of municipal finance experience, Nickerson brings a deep commitment to public service and financial stewardship. He most recently served as Director of Finance for the City of Milliken, Colorado, a role he held since 2020. Prior to that, he held the same position in Baytown, Texas, from 2016 to 2020.
Mr. Nickerson began his municipal finance career in Lafayette, Colorado, where he served from 2000 to 2016. Over his 16-year tenure, he advanced through the ranks from accountant to accounting manager and ultimately to Director of Finance.
In addition to his professional roles, Mr. Nickerson served on the Colorado Government Finance Officers Association (CGFOA) for four years, contributing to the advancement of financial leadership and best practices across the state.
Originally from Nebraska, Mr. Nickerson earned his degree in Business Administration with a specialty in Accounting from Chadron State College. He is married, with three children and three grandchildren.
In his new role, Mr. Nickerson will oversee the City’s financial operations, budgeting, and fiscal planning, supporting strategic growth and long-term sustainability for Marble Falls.
