This grant, part of the Urban Outdoor, Non-Urban Outdoor, and Small Community Recreation Grants program, is an achievement that will significantly contribute to the development of public parkland in our community.
TPWD has allocated $20,679,983 in grant support to various eligible entities, including the City of Marble Falls. The funds are sourced from different programs, including $13,682,079 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), $1,299,410 from the Urban Parks Account, and $5,698,494 from the Texas Recreation and Parks Account (TRPA).
With 79 applications submitted by eligible entities across Texas, totaling $39,101,653 in matching fund assistance requests, the City of Marble Falls emerged successfully, securing $726,207 to develop Park View Park.
"We are delighted to have been selected among the deserving recipients of this grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The grant validates our vision for Park View Park and emphasizes the importance of creating accessible and enjoyable public spaces for our community," said Lacey Dingman, Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Marble Falls.
Park View Park, located at Park Ridge and Park View Dr., will offer residents and visitors various amenities, including over a 1/2-mile walking trail, modern playground equipment, shade structures, a restroom, and a dedicated parking lot.
"We sincerely thank TPWD for their commitment to supporting local communities in their efforts to enhance public parkland. This grant is a testament to the collaborative spirit between the state and local entities working towards a common goal of promoting recreational opportunities," added Lacey Dingman.
